European Council President Charles Michel warned China on Thursday of the political consequences of any escalation in the Taiwan crisis.
During a press conference, the EU representative also took the opportunity to stress the common interests and the constructive relationship, which, according to Michel, must be based on respect for the international rules-based order.
Besides, he mentioned that the bloc expects China to take more concrete steps to improve foreign companies' market access and investment environment. At the same time, regarding the conflict in Ukraine, he encouraged Beijing to engage in a constructive peace formula.
