The reform is being implemented, among other things, by optimizing the number of army, navy, and air force representatives in countries with large diplomatic missions, such as Russia, France, and the United Kingdom.

Now Delhi is sending 15-16 military attachés to several other countries, some of them will host Indian military representatives for the first time, and some others will update or strengthen the existing apparatus. Emphasis is placed on the countries with which India is developing technical-military cooperation.

"Some of them have already started working in new positions. In the next phase, 10 new military attachés will be created in various countries, with a special emphasis on the countries where weapons are exported," said the interlocutor of the aforesaid agency. In particular, an Indian military attaché was appointed to Armenia for the first time. India has already agreed with Armenia on the supply of Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, Akash short-range antiaircraft missile system, and several other Indian-made weapons.

"This is the first time that a military attaché is specially appointed to Armenia," the source emphasized.

New Indian military representatives will also be sent to Djibouti, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Poland, Tanzania, the Philippines, and Ethiopia.
