The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that the Russian and Egyptian warships will stage joint exercises this week as part of a "scheduled business call" of a detachment of Russian Navy ships to the Egyptian port of Alexandria.
The ministry said the ships will "practice elements of joint maneuvering, conduct communications and inspection training." The visit is expected to be "another practical step in strengthening Russian-Egyptian naval cooperation," it added.
