President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev says one official received $89 million bribe for the Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex, AkiPress writes.
Speaking at the Senate session on June 21, Mirziyoyev told about corrupted oil and gas sector of Uzbekistan.
"For 20 years, there was a bribery in half of the oil and gas projects of the country. One official received $89 million bribe for the Ustyurt Gas Chemical Complex," Mirzioyev said.
Mirziyoyev also accused ex-Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov of bribery and announced criminal probe launched against him. The new Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev was tasked to break the corrupt system of prosecution bodies.
