US Vice President JD Vance has dismissed allegations that White House advisers Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff sought to benefit financially from their roles in negotiations with Iran.
In a post on X, Vance described the claims as "completely bogus," calling Kushner and Witkoff "trusted members of the president's team."
"The idea they're trading on insider information is absurd," Vance wrote in response to a post citing allegations published by Drop Site News.
The report claimed Iran had sent a message to Vance during negotiations in Switzerland alleging that Kushner and Witkoff were abusing their positions as negotiators. Vance denied receiving any such communication.
"I never received a message like this," he said, adding that "no one has done more than the two of them to work towards peace and prosperity in the region."
Vance's comments came hours after he accused some members of the Israeli government of attempting to undermine US efforts to end the conflict through what he described as a "foreign influence campaign."
This is completely bogus. I never received a message like this.
