Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it has targeted a US special operations command centre at the al-Tanf military base in southern Syria.
According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, the IRGC said the strike was carried out in retaliation for the killing of Iranian soldiers in Iranshahr.
The IRGC also reiterated its position on the Strait of Hormuz, claiming Iran maintains full control over the strategic waterway and warning that no oil or gas would be exported through the strait for as long as renewed US attacks continue.
The United States has not immediately commented on the reported attack or the IRGC's claims.
