Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has announced that the war officially ended on Monday morning, Tehran time, following the finalization of an agreement between Iran and the United States.
EDnews reports that Araghchi made the remarks during a meeting with diplomats in Tehran.
According to the Iranian foreign minister, the end of hostilities was formally declared after both sides completed negotiations on the agreement. He noted that the memorandum of understanding will officially enter into force on Friday, when a formal signing ceremony is expected to take place.
Araghchi stated that the agreement marks a significant step toward ending military operations and opening a new phase of negotiations between Tehran and Washington. He also emphasized that the implementation of the memorandum will begin following its formal entry into force later this week.
