US President Donald Trump has said he expects the second stage of the US–Iran agreement to be “actually easier,” expressing confidence that the broader deal will succeed.
EDnews reports that Trump made the remarks while speaking in France, where he is attending the G7 summit, describing the initial agreement with Tehran as a positive step forward.
He said the deal “should be successful” and suggested that follow-up negotiations aimed at implementing the next phase would face fewer obstacles than the initial agreement process.
The comments come as the US and Iran prepare for further talks under a framework agreement reached earlier this week, which is expected to be formally signed in Switzerland in the coming days.
According to officials, the next phase of negotiations will focus on technical arrangements and long-term implementation measures following the initial memorandum of understanding between the two sides.
