As Ednews reported earlier, last night, Al-Jazeera TV reporter Ismail Al Ghoul and cameraman Rami Al Rifi tragically lost their lives amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. In response to this heartbreaking event, the Al-Jazeera Media Network has issued a statement condemning the incident.
Umud Mirzayev, president of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), expressed his condolences and shared his thoughts on the incident.
"It is sad news. One of the painful aspects of war is that it causes human tragedies. The death of Al-Jazeera journalists is an unfortunate event. In general, the fact that journalists face death in the hotbeds of conflict shows how much risk and courage are required of these professions. It is a fact that shows. I also consider it necessary to eliminate the tragic situations that caused human losses in conflict centers such as Ukraine, Gaza, etc., and to establish peace."
Mirzayev emphasized the importance of protecting journalists in conflict zones and highlighted the cooperation between the IEPF and Al-Jazeera Media Network. He noted that their partnership is founded on a shared commitment to improving the world and fostering trust.
Since the Gaza conflict began on October 7, 2023, 163 journalists have lost their lives, underscoring the perilous conditions under which they operate. The IEPF continues to support the professional activities of the Al-Jazeera Media Network, advocating for freedom of speech and the dissemination of objective information.
