President of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev, has sent a letter of support to Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus in light of recent events in Bangladesh.
Ednews presents the full text of Mirzayev's letter:
"Honorable professor Muhammad Yunus,
We have been following the recent proccess in Bangladesh with concern.
For a long time, the people of Bangladesh have been fighting for their destiny. Today, the people of Bengal face a significant challenge.
We have always seen and supported you as the foremost advocate for peace and unity among your people. Just as you led during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971, you are now at the forefront of this struggle. You are one of the few individuals striving to create peace and tranquility not only for your own people but for all of humanity.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives during the recent incidents. However, we believe that justice will prevail soon.
We extend our heartfelt wishes for peace and success to You and the people of Bangladesh." Umud Mirzayev wrote.
The letter comes amid significant political turmoil in Bangladesh, where Yunus's students have proposed that he should serve as the chief adviser of the interim government. Recently, student protesters stormed the official residence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka, leading to her resignation and subsequent flight to India, where she sought asylum before requesting refuge in England.
