Iranian authorities have opened more than 5,000 schools across the country to accommodate pilgrims traveling to attend the funeral of late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
According to Iran's ISNA news agency, the country's education minister said that approximately 40,000 to 50,000 classrooms have been made available to provide temporary lodging and support for visitors arriving for the ceremony.
Officials expect more than 10 million mourners to travel to Tehran for the funeral, including delegations and representatives from over 100 countries, making it one of the largest public gatherings in the country's history.
The measures are aimed at managing the massive influx of visitors as funeral ceremonies continue in the Iranian capital.
