The United States has accused China of not doing enough to prevent the transfer of goods with potential military applications to Iran and Yemen's Houthi movement.
Speaking at the UN Security Council, US Ambassador Mike Waltz said that Iran, along with some Chinese companies and entities, had violated a UN resolution imposing an arms embargo on the Houthis with "little consequence."
During an exchange with China's representative, Waltz clarified that he was referring to the transfer of dual-use items and satellite imagery, which he said have both civilian and military applications.
According to Waltz, such materials have been used by Iran and the Houthis to threaten US partners, civilian aircraft and commercial shipping in the region.
China has not immediately responded to the latest accusations.
