China has criticized US military action against Iran, saying Washington’s strikes have further escalated tensions and pushed the Middle East toward a dangerous point.
Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations Sun Lei made the remarks after US envoy Mike Waltz accused Beijing of failing to prevent the transfer of goods with potential military uses to Iran and Yemen’s Houthi movement.
Sun rejected the accusations as "completely baseless," saying China maintains strict controls over relevant exports.
"The priority now is for the US to stop creating new conflicts and turmoil in the Middle East," Sun said, calling for efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
