The Ural Lines flight from Sharm el-Sheikh to Volgograd was redirected to an alternate airfield in Astrakhan due to airspace restrictions, Ednews informs via Russian media.
Flights of Pobeda and Aeroflot airlines from Moscow to Volgograd were also delayed, the representative of the Volgograd airport Anastasia Golodova said.
Restrictions in the airspace were introduced amid drone attacks on the Volgograd region. On the morning of March 8, the Russian Ministry of Defense said 11 drones were destroyed over the region. The military department later reported that four more UAVs were shot down. No casualties or damage were reported.
